To join these you don’t need to download anything, all you need to do is create a Windows shortcut to TribesAscend.exe and add -hostx=18.197. Right now the official servers are down and we can’t login and even when they are up you often get the annoying, unkickable hacker.
There were no updates to the game for several years, and Ascend’s community slowly drifted away while the game was left to pasture. Fans had accused Hi-Rez of abandoning Tribes while it worked to make Smite profitable. Tribes: Ascend, the multiplayer shooter revived by Hi-Rez Studios, has once again come to an end. The game was first abandoned in 2013, just a year after it launched, when Hi-Rez moved on to focus on hit MOBA, Smite. Hi-Rez Studios’ free-to-play shooter Tribes: Ascend has been shuttered for the second time. It won’t show up in searches, but the Steam page is still there and you can add it to your library and download it. Not so: You can still play Tribes: Ascend, even though it’s delisted from Steam.
